Been reading a bunch on it, I think this is the one I am going to go with. My question is I typically bring a zero degree mummy and a liner for my fall trips. Does a guy need the under quilt?

Any recommendations for accessories to add to the hammock?

Yes, you need bottom insulation - the sleeping bag will compress under you and you'll be cold.

I own a bunch of Kammok gear including both a Mantis and a Mantis UL. You’ll love it! Yes, I would always use an under quilt as it tends to get chilly in the morning even on hot summer days. I recommend getting a Firebelly. I bought two of them and I use them for my over quilt and under quilt and I’ve skipped using a sleeping bag all together. The Firebelly also turns into a poncho that you can wear when it’s chilly. Also, buy yourself a Joey hammock for gear underneath you!

It was deliverd on Monday and I slept in the same night in the backyard, it was awesome! I did the UL two arctos quilts and organizer. The Joey was out of stock, but I'll be purchasing that once in stock!

Also I want to mention that even though I own a 1.9oz CCS tarp, If you are not tarp savvy, an easy one to use is the Kammok Kuhli. There are no knots required, it’s just pull tight. You don’t need a lot of skill to use it and it’s ultra light and will do the job. It is certainly not in the league of Cooke Custom Sewing but it can be a worry free way to go while also providing a larger tarp area than the small gray one that comes with your Mantis.

I love my Mantis so far. Curious if you do anything to keep the bug net elevated away from your face while inside. It is not hanging low enough to touch, but I want it to be pulled taut if possible.
