live2ski,
Welcome to this site. Boy, you start with a trip report, wow, that's great. You certainly have started with some terrific tripping memories with your sons.

We haven't gone in at #16 yet, but do plan to. The learning process of what to bring maybe accelerated when you begin, but never really stops with the changes in equipment and ones tripping focus. You will improve and learn with each trip, which is a part of the experience that we enjoy.

Thanks for sharing your first trip experiences, I enjoyed reading it.

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you had a nice first trip. I love ep 16. and that day trip to boulder bay is a great side trip. (although I would recommend going down the river and then taking the portage back to agnes) Next year will you do the Kayaks again or rent another canoe?

Nice report. My son and I camped at site 1801 on Lake Agnes in August 2008. Remember this rock? It was a great windbreak.

I will have to check the map about the river. I thought there was only one way to get to Boulder. Thanks for the heads up. This year I think we are going to #14 in early August renting two canoes, leaving the kayaks at home.

The rock was great. We set up the kitchen about where your tent is and set the our tent just back from there toward the out door throne.

First off, welcome! Nice report and I can relate to the learning to take it as it comes. I did my first trip last summer with my daughter - just had to go with the flow. Rain gear on - not raining, take it off - it starts raining :)

Glad that you had the chance to spend that time with your boys and have fun planning the 2010 trip!!

Great Report Live2Ski.
I liked this comment "I need to learn to live in the moment and enjoy things as they happen not in the planning of them happening."
How true for all of us. What a great learning experience every trip is espcially the first as you get a "true flavor" for what to expect once your living it and in the moment. Especially what you should take and what to do different, etc.
Keep taking em camping...It;s a heck of a way to bond.
