      Trip Report - Brule Lake Loop was good to us

Entry Point 41 - Brule Lake

Brule Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Tofte Ranger Station near the city of Tofte, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 35 miles. Access is a boat landing at Brule Lake. Large lake with several campsites. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

That site on Gaskin is a real peach! My wife & I were there last fall. Must've been quite a welcome surprise that you encountered so few people in that relatively popular area?

Very much so. A pleasant surprise indeed. I will say there were a couple of times that people passed by our camp well after we were settled in but we never met anyone on a portage trail or out on a lake while traveling. I believe a real desire to get up early and be on the water way before others and usually finding a camp site by 10:30 to noon plays a big role in this happening. However, we have done this in the past and still run into others so I can't explain exactly what happened this time around. I'll take it though. Thanks.
