Jenni,
What a nice report and such a special time with your grand daughter! I enjoyed the "bombing" episode a lot and could hear the laughter between you two.

I LOVE Audrey's drawings!

Thanks!

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

Very nice report.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story. With an artist like Audrey along who needs to bring a camera? :)

P.S. welcome to bwca.com!

Wonderful! Welcome to the site. I wish I took more time in camp to write stuff up. Perhaps as my kids get older, I will do so. It's hard when you're keeping track of a 3-year-old. ;-)

I absolutely adore your granddaughter's pictures and that journal is a special keep sake for sure!! Good times, great memories...just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the journal - I've been writing one since our first trip back in 2000. Audrey is thrilled that you like her drawings. We are giggling because she's actually our daughter, not our granddaughter :-) I always talk about how "old" I am, but we're 39 and 44. We used to do these monster loops, traveling 12-20 miles each day and setting up a new camp each day. Now that we are "older" with a little tripper along, we are changing our ways. Base camping is *really* nice - more time to enjoy an area and our time together as a family!

Thanks for joining us with such a nice report. An enjoyable read about an area we have also enjoyed. Pleased you were not on the water with the storm, I dislike being on the water during a thunderstorm as well.

I couldn't tell anything from the picture, but if the plants you are asking about have a singular yellow flower at the tips, my guess would be you were seeing Yellow Eyed Grass.

Loved your trip report-great writing! I think Audrey's pictures are such a special keepsake. Loved her rendition of you in the tent and the beaver.

DaSeibels - I really enjoyed your Trip Report especially your daughters drawings. She did a great job on the loons but I really liked the way she drew the look on your face when you were in the tent!

Sounds like a nice area you were in. Thanks for the Report.

Loved the report. Loved the drawings! Those will be special mementos in a few decades.

Nice report...really I felt like I was there. Seems like you all had a wonderful family trip. BTW....I can relate to "the fishing rods I had in hand were just irritating me beyond all belief." statement. My sentiments exactly. I would rather carry an additional pack then those darn fishing poles!!!!
