Neat report!

Glad the first father/daughter trip went well. I trust H didn't lose her eyeballs & was able to finish that whole pancake. :) I think this picture sums up how she felt the trip went & how I rate this report.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story & photos.

Awesome!! I loved every second. And now I am excited for the day when my little L (age 4) can do her own trip reports. :)

Awesome report... love hearing your daughter's perspective on the trip.
My 13 year old was going to write a trip report for our family journey to Long Island last year but she never pulled it off. Then again neither did I :-)

Little H should be an inspiration to us all.

We love the Cross Bay entry point off of the Gunflint but her report makes me anxoius to explore this area as well.

Great stuff!!! Thanks for sharing.

Cool report Ducks and H! Nice pics too, especially catching that rainbow!

That was great! Lucky dad, lucky daughter. The spare descriptive prose of a 7-year-old is really Hemingwayesque!

And she is brave . . . playing with the leeches! LOL Those things creep me out. Hope you have many more fun family trips.

Awesome report! It was nice to meet you and H also...and it gave my wife a clear indicator that my father/daughter trip is only a couple of years down the road. :)

Great trip report - how wonderful to share the experience with your daughter. Lots of special memories for you both. Hopefully there will be many more trips to come!

Thank you for the kind words everyone. A lot of people that we know that are not canoe trippers couldn't believe that I was going there alone with her and are amazed at how well she did. I'm definitely a proud dad.

We love the Lizz area and Cross Bay is on my list of places I want to visit because it seems very similar.

One of my favorite H lines of all time was when we were at Perent Lake for her first trip and she had a leech hanging from her hand and she said "Hey daddy, look, this one REALLY likes me" :)

I loved the report...my favorite picture is the UNO cards and the Loon in the tent playing cards, as it had to be a great way to spend time with her dad in the rain!

Thanks for sharing,

What a wonderful report and precious memories for Dad and daughter. May there be many, many more. Thanks.

We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

It sounds like some great one-on-one quality time with your daughter, ducks. It seems like it went very well - she seems pretty competent for a 7-year-old.

Just read this report. What a wonderful idea.
Thank you.

Never lost. All portages and roads go somewhere or they would not be there.
