Looks like you all had a great time. How'd the boys get along? Mine had trouble getting past 15 minutes without fighting.

Without the bad times, the good times wouldn't seem so good.

They actually got along well and usually do but we did have one rule that I did have to remind them of occasionally, and that was No Wrestling In The Boundary Waters!Tensions did rise when one was catching fish and the other one not but I can understand a little competitiveness when it comes to fishing.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your trip. I love that route and look forward to doing it again. That area between lake Tac and Fish Stake is intriguing. Did you fish that area? Nice plan and report.

We did fish that area and if I was going to do it again I would plan a couple of more days in that area. A favorite because of the scenery, fishing, and remote feel to the area.

i have been that way many times and it's a great trip with few portages.
i was on Trillium 15 years ago and i always think of it as a small lake but in your shots it's fairly large.we had to pull a lot of downed black spruce out of the way to get a tent spot.
was the island with the two sand beaches the place where they had the fire?..great report!

it's just a level trail thru the woods.

Wetcanoedog, your youtube videos gave me insight and inspired me to make this trip so thank you very much! Yes we were on the site with the 2 beaches and it is a dandy. There is so much to explore on LaCroix so I understand why you like the area so much.
