Sounds like a nice little trip. Maybe we'll run into each other in Sept - what's your plan?

I've got a 9/23 Cross Bay (#EP #50) entry and exit 12 days later at Round Lake on Oct 4th. I'll be in Grand Marais the night before (22nd) and the 2 nights after (4th and 5th). If you're going to be around on those dates maybe we can meet for dinner or maybe lunch - I'll be on the North Shore early on the 22nd as I'll be getting into Duluth on Monday around dinner time.

How many days do you have for your solo?

There are a lot of nice trips you can take depending on time and preferences. I've done nice trips from Ely, the Sawbill Trail, and the Gunflint Trail. If you're looking for ideas, I might have some depending on your time and preferences.

A few guys had thought they might meet me for a group solo for the first couple of days, but most have had conflicts with the date, although a couple are still a possibility, albeit probably a last minute decision on their part. One may try to catch me on the tail end. You are certainly welcome to do the same if the date works for you. I've done the group solo thing with others and think it would be an interesting experience.

Briefly, my plan is a short 1st day to Snipe, then a longer 2nd day to Tuscarora via Copper and Hubbub Lakes and the Howl Swamp Portage. A couple of days later I should be on Little Saganaga and I'll assess how things are going generally, the weather, and whether to continue on.

You can email me if it looks like you might be able to meet or want some other information - just put BWCA in the subject and your "handle".

Hope you have a good one.
