Entry Point 27 - Snowbank Lake

Snowbank Lake entry point allows overnight paddle or motor (25 HP max). This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 24 miles. Access is a boat landing or canoe launch at Snowbank Lake. Many trip options for paddlers. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Thanks for the report, hunter. Sorry you didn't have better weather - I've had a couple of short trips where bad weather really shortened them.

That is familiar territory for my son and myself. We had the same site you did on Disappointment I believe and were comfortable and had good fishing. The only site I've had on Ima was the one on the portage into Alworth Lake. I've wanted to try staying on one of the island sites. the largest waves I've ever encountered in the BW were on Snowbank and on Ima.
