Entry Point 62 - Clearwater Lake

Clearwater Lake entry point allows overnight paddle or motor (10 HP max). This entry point is supported by Gunflint Ranger Station near the city of Grand Marais, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 33 miles. Motors allowed on Clearwater Lake only. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Nice report. This is one of my favorite places. And we have been up there in June when it was pretty cold, too.

Wow. We had thick fog - but didn't see any frost. I think the water kept us just above freezing.

Stayed at that same campsite for a night in 2014. No walleys for us either. The portage was muddy then too even at the end of summmer.

I stayed at the exact site last August. Walleyes were biting like crazy and the portage was bone dry. What a difference weather can create!
