No doubt it is the best time of the year... My first trip begins in 4 days and I can't wait. I will be making at least one more trip for trout in 2018.

Winter is here, and after next week there will be sufficient ice for me to Trek out near home. Starting to twitch!!

As I read your post, my Kni-co stove and lake trout fishing gear was sitting on my dining room table. I am eagerly and excitedly planning my next trip. Can't wait to get way, way out there.

Happy winter everyone. There’s a lot whining going on over winter but we know it’s one of the best seasons.

I was out testing some gear Tuesday night at Wild River State park. Saw some deer, heard snow owls and geese even then enjoyed a lot of silence. Great time for sure.

Learned my 5 degree bag really doesn’t cut it even with a down quilt over it. A quick dry shirt with a 100 weight base layer doesn’t cut it either! But I do know my mukluks are the warmest boots I’ve ever owned.

Here’s hoping everyone gets a chance to enjoy this great winter.
