I use a mix that I make from corn meal, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, and salt & pepper. Usually I will mix it up before the trip and just take it in a baggy, but again it only has one use. I think that it tastes a lot better then the biscuit mix that I used to use.

I usually take a ziplock of ShoreLunch along. The upside is that it tastes great and is easy. The downsides are that it's another thing to carry which only can be used for one thing (as opposed to the other mixes listed here).

In the BW, I mostly wrap mine in foil with a bit of lemon pepper sprinkled on it. When I do bread it, I have used either biscuit or pancake mix.

I normally do not use breading in the BWCA... I just put a little oil and butter in the skillet and put either a little lemon-pepper, cajun, or Emeril's spice on it and cook it that way. Less oil to carry and don't have to worry about cornmeal either...

i don't normally even eat fish, but the only time I ate it and liked it, it was Northern Pike (with the y bones successfully removed) breaded in the flour - corn meal mixture with cayenne pepper, and fried in peanut oil.

I like your recipe..I use something real similar, with Lemon Pepper and a bit of cayenne instead of regular pepper.

I also like a flour/corn meal mixture, again with salt/lemon peper or cayenne.

What do you guys use for fish breading. I'm a big fan of crushed up Saltines with salt, pepper, and a liberal amount of Chili Powder.
