05/09/2012 09:40PM The online purchases of the outdoor card and fishing license worked well for me when I bought them a few months ago. And thanks to the person that posted the message giving a headsup that licenses may not be available at the park border crossing offices and buying them online was the safe way to go. That bit of information may have saved a major headache on my entry date. |

05/09/2012 09:21PM you are correct. that is clearly stated in the instructions and why you need to use a computer hooked to a printer. the outdoor card is mailed to you. |

I purchased both the Outdoors Card and a fishing license for our upcoming trip in June. I got the Outdoors Card in the mail 3 to 4 weeks after placing my order, but I was under the impression that you didn't actually receive a fishing license in the mail but instead printed it off from the MNR website after your order. |

05/08/2012 11:06AM Bringing this back to the top. I just renewed my Outdoors Card and bought my Ontario fishing license online. Took me all of about 7 minutes. We leave for our trip one month from today. If, by chance, my new Outdoors Card and license don't arrive in time, I have a printed receipt. Online Outdoors Card and Fishing Licenses |

03/06/2012 06:56AMquote QueticoMike: "If it works fine for people logging into the system at home, why will it not work at the border?" internet service/speed on the border is vastly slower than the real world! most run on satellite, and some even run on a generator! |

03/03/2012 12:53PM Didn't really save anything,but I bought the three-year fishing license this time around. I don't think non-residents could buy a 3 year fishing before this year. |

03/03/2012 07:29AM When I began buying my fishing license ahead of time, and paying cash at the ranger station for camping it sped the process at the ranger station in Cache bay by quite a bit. Now if we could only get our camping permits online... Terry |

02/13/2012 06:06PM http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsFish/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_165323.html Usually you need both. There may be a exemption for one day license? The outdoor card is a three year deal and kind of acts as a identification card. |

02/13/2012 05:13PM What is the difference between an outdoors card and a fishing licence? Do I need to get both for my Quetico trip next year? |

02/13/2012 08:25AM I am sure they could. But each individuals license information would have to be taken, than probably paid by a credit card etc.. That takes a while to process in the computer(sure hope I am not waiting behind that person). Now you need a outdoor card(Maybe on a license for a few days I don't know). Now it is so easy you could get it in Ely via the internet and printer. It would be nice for the ones that forget or if they still could do a paper copy at least for like 3 day license. |

02/10/2012 03:07PM Thank you for changing it. We always got ours ahead of time. If we got to Prairie Portage during the rush hour, the slow part was always waiting for people to get a fishing license. Now with the online instant license you don't have to wait a extended time in the mail either. |

02/10/2012 01:58PM Link to Ontario fishing notice Thanks PINeTREE. Hope you don't mind I changed it into a direct link. In a way this might be good. The line at Prairie gets jumbled up with the fishing licenses sometimes. I always get mine a head of time anyway----hate lines :) T |
