That's one of my obligations before I go on a trip. Try to give a little back in any way I can. I know they do many tasks. Support the Quetico's future, maintain portages by volunteering and help keep the library going of historical data.

I am a member of Friends. You are probably correct that you were a member. It seems that they do not remind you to rejoin. Probably because of the small budget. I join each year when I go to Quetico. I wish they had more members. They can not get involved in anything that may be contrary to Park Policy or too involved in politics. Probably because they operate sales outlets in the park entrances. The mission is to support the park and they do a good job doing that.

I belong to both. They do a lot to keep the park going and they do a ton of volunteer work. Also I think they are on a shoestring budget. Friends

I belong to Friends of Quetico. I enjoy newsletter and discounts at the park stores. That is all.

The thread in the fishing forum about the live bait & barbless hooks ban in Quetico got me thinking - are there any board members here that are also members of either Friends of Quetico or the Quetico Foundation (or perhaps both)?
Seems to me that members of those organizations might have had input about those rule changes, but maybe not.
For as many years that I have paddled Quetico, I'm surprised that I'm not a longtime member of either (or both). Seems like I may have paid yearly dues to the Friends once or twice, but I can't remember. I'm not a member now and haven't been for a long time.
Is anyone here a member of one or both of those organizations? Anything you can share about them that might be of interest? Some year, I'd like to attend the Quetico Foundation dinner in Toronto.
