Thanks a lot. This helps a ton! Mocha....I see we have something in common. I too used to have a chocolate lab named Mocha who passed away in 2002. It is very tough to lose a canine friend...and even though it was very hard for me....I know my life was better that I could share it with her....even if it was too short. I hope your Mocha can live for eternity in your heart as my Mocha does for me.

Namaste

parking is at hungry jack - in the lot as described above.

the closest parking area to the portage from W bearskin to Duncan is down cty rd 65, the Hungry Jack Rd. it ends in a parking lot, if you kept going straight you'd end up at Menogyn's parking lot.

if you use the parking area on the east end of W Bearskin you'll just have to paddle the length of the lake to get to the portage.

I will be heading in at the end of the month on a trip from Bearskin lake, to Duncan via EP 60. I assume the parking for the entry is the boat access on Bearskin...is that correct?

I also would be happy to entertain any campground recommendations for the area. My plan is to do the stairway portage and then....depending on how much I have left.... base camp on Rose or South. It will be just be the two of us....so a large site isn't a priority. I also really have no specific plans...we usually do whatever the area gives us. Also an insight into the area will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Bob
