Did a similar loop this weekend (Cherokee, Town, Gasket, Cam, Wench, Brule. Absolutely brutal portages (and we had a, 80 pound Old Towne canoe in tow. Not sure I would go that way again.
Now that you're an award winning photographer, will you be changing your career goals? Congatulations.
The winner of the December photo contest is lilcowdoc! Congratulations! The extra hat goes to ZIMTLSA.
TomT is the winner of the Trip Report Contest!
Thank you everyone for sharing your photos and trip reports.
I already entered the contest with a photo from Prairie Portage above, but I wanted to share this one taken on December 30 snowshoeing into Angleworm.

Lake One, Sept 2006. Had been trying for about 12 years to get my friend up there.
Take-out (September 21, 2007) and a traditional toast to another good trip. This trip started and ended at Kawishiwi Lake (Entry 37). Little Saganaga was reached via a meandering path that took us through Beaver, Smite, Adams, Boulder, Ledge, Vee, Fee, Hoe, and etc (relaxed pace of travel). We entered on Sunday (September 9) just after the fire ban was lifted. The weather was a "bit" unsettled over the entire time, but water levels were excellent. The connection to Boulder from Adams was as simple as a pull-over (in marked contrast to nearly impassable conditions in 2006). Cheers.
A portage on the Horse River in August. This makes me long for the BWCA.

The Mudro Lake entry point in Sept. 2007. Coming back this way 5 days later and it would be 30 feet wide with a strong current. Got a lot of rain that week!
This was at EP #23, on a windless day. We had just made our first portage of the trip down to Mudro Lake, and found this returning for the second load. A big surprise awaiting someone after their trip.
cowdoc - more ironic than oxymoronish. We were going to pack out the old rusty car that someone carelessly left along the Beaverhouse/Quetico portage, but it was just too early in the trip and we had a fully loaded food barrel.
