FYI Eagle Claw discontinued the barbless hooks. The BWJ bought the rest of them---so right now they are the only source for that type of hook. I bought some last week--I'll try them out this summer.

Does anyone have a good source for barbless hooks?

we used the bwj trebles in quetico last year and they worked just fine. idont like to smash barbs since it can weakin the hook or even break the tip off.as far as the catch rate goes weve never noticed a diffrince with or without barbs.ive been going barbless for years since it is easier on the fish and your hands.make sure to use a split ring between the hook and your lure it makes it harder forthem to throw the hook and try to keep those big smallies from jumping thats when they usually come off..

Here are some pictures of the BWJ Barbless hooks Vs. Old regular ones.
There was some discussion on weather the new type hooks were better than regular hooks with the barbs crimped down...?
