Yes the campsite was there, on the northern tip of the eastern most island. The island as you saw above was burned by Pagani. Not a pretty site, the sound of the gulls on the small rock islands made it hard to fish that end without momma and papa gull dive bombing us.

thanks djw22, that overhead is accurate, the right most island burned almost completely, the other two, almost untouched I'll be in that spot again June and see if there is any trace of the campsite. thanks.

Based on some Pagami Creek Fire maps I've seen- my son is a senior forestry major at Iowa State- that island was burned in the fire. Looks like it in one of the pics there.

I thought that map was correct. Thanks. North tip of east island.

The campsite is on the upper tip of the right island shown in the pictures. It is located at the grayish/white spot on the top- that's a huge lightly sloping rock going into a great swimming/cooking/sunning and drying site. There was a great rock face we placed the tent against. Made for more confidence a tree wasn't going to land on us during some windy storms. 1st trip there in July 1992 with my brother and again in July 2008 with my 2 sons. Camped in the same 2 places. Snake River #84 was pretty tough entry the 2nd time around.

The first of those three shows it on north shore of east island (small red dot). I really just don't know which was the "southern" island you referred to.

We placed the tent right up against the rock wall. The campsite slides right into the water- nice swimming right at the site and great sunning rock. Easy walk to the latrine. Caught walleyes trolling shad raps on the west side of the islands. Lots of smallies right up next to shore on the south side of the island. Could not find the camping site on the other island."\\I'm not sure which you call the southern island. Three images/maps - PP showing the pcd location (I think its from Azeala's database) on western end of western most island; Voyaguer map which may be what you are suggesting (and I think matches McKenzie and Fisher - not sure); and google earth.

"

That is the same map we used, it showed the campsite on the eastern point of the left island (based on your picture, you have left, middle, right islands). The post in my link said it was on the north point of the middle island. I was hoping somebody could confirm finding it in either location.

We did fish Gull lake quite a bit but mainly the SW side of the lake since we were camped on the SW island closest to the portage from Bald Eagle lake.

That is a sweet lake. One of my favorites.

On another online map its at north end of east most island of those three. I see it's where you started on Voyaguer - south east of west most of three.

Looking back at last year's trip and dreaming of next year, I remembered something I meant to ask when I returned. In June 2015 we headed in through the Snake River entry, across Bald Eagle to Gull, we planned to basecamp on Gull on either island site. The southern most island site was occupied. The northern island campsite, we couldn't find. We didn't see a fire grate, no opening/pad areas, the whole island looked like it had been overgrown for years. Did that site get closed during one of the fires and never reopened? I'm trying to find the site number but the maps aren't loading for me. Anybody have any ideas?

Update: Site 1741. In the new maps it says the site is marked wrong, it's on the north side of the middle island. http://www.bwca.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=maps.gmap&lat=48.12444&lon=-91.85056&zoom=12##

Can anyone confirm if they've been there in the last couple years?
