A few years back I rented a sat phone from Tuscarora Outfitters. I will not be near Tuscarora for an upcoming trip. Does anyone have experience with renting from a non-outfitter source?

no personal experience but when i worked in outfitting we had guests that googled "satellite phone rental" and then ordered one up to be delivered to the outfitter, they used it and sent it back. never an instance of the phone not working, so i guess that's good.

For many years I've rented Sat phones from the company at the link below. When you add up shipping, minutes, etc., they are always the cheapest that I've found. I've always been happy with their phones except last summer, the phone we got would receive text messages 3 or 4 days after the message was sent.
