went out for a bit yesterday along the gunflint trail. (no fish). There was a foot more ice than there was on March 1. So, pushing 3 feet of ice mid-trail. Plenty for the end of lake trout season.

What looked like an early ice out sounds like it might turn out to be a late ice out.

thats great news , i hope i hear seagull opens up about may 1st maybe the 5th, always like to be within 7-10 days of ice out for lakers :)
