So, yeah, I ordered the pack and it'll take a couple weeks to get. Anyone here have one? Can you tell me about how great it is? Hoping it will replace the old Kelty Redwing as my 2nd/day pack. Is it low enough to comfortably portage with while wearing? Is it weird the stuff you get excited about as you get older?

I bought a Bushcrafter last year to portage with the canoe on trips that I opted for double portaging. It is a wonderful pack, perfect size for the job (Wanderer is similarly sized) and superbly crafted. You've made a good decision.

I bought one at Canoecopia a couple of weeks ago. So far the only time I've used it is to carry my stash from the show out to my car.

However, for me, it's a perfect day pack. Well made as usual and the perfect size for me to carry while portaging my canoe.

I particularly like the fact that the pack has side straps which allow you to snug it in or out to fit your load. I also like the mesh side pockets for water bottles.

This is the 8th CCS pack I've purchased. I'm a CCS junkie.

I hadn't seen that pack before. It's not noted on Dan's website, but what's the cubic inch capacity?

It's very new. I thought Copia was it's "public release"

CCS Wander pack

I had the privilege of seeing this and trying this on compared to the rucksack.

The Wander (and Rucksack) is gorgeous ,and comfortable if you're looking for a day pack possibly an overnight pack..... CCS again - does not disappoint.

If you're in the market for a daypack, this Wanderer is absolutely top notch! They didn't skimp or forget anything. The side mesh pockets on the sides are awesome, and would be the perfect addition to your collection.

Not sure what the capacity is of the Wanderer - but the Rucksack is 2156 cu. in. The Wanderer is definitely smaller, but not significantly so.

One of the clever features of this pack is that the snap for the sternum strap contains a built in emergency whistle. Nifty.

All the CCS packs have that feature

Some old farts like me may have stuff pre-dating the availability of the whistle clip. They were not always used.

I bought one at Copia and it's absolutely what I was looking for in a pack to carry with a canoe. I love the mesh side pockets and all the straps for adjustments. The padded back, the waist belt and sternum strap are big upgrades over my BWJ Guide Pack.

Looks like a better pack than the old BWJ Pack that I have been using for years.

That new pack does look nice.

The clip and whistles are a neat feature and are on many packs now. You can also get them to out on old packs at REI.

I've been hankering for a rucksack and now am not sure which to wish for. I've also been enjoying my light hiker as a good pack to toss in a suitcase and have a pack for hikes at the other end.

My guide pack served me well since 2006. The threads were coming loose around all the zippers and they would get caught in them. The mesh side pockets make getting at water so much easier and the bottle will ride snug on the pack too.
It's really the perfect pack. Kudos to Dan Cooke and CCS for another really fine product for us.

One thing though - in the pictures of the pack at the site you really can't see the waist belt. and, the sternum strap has slid down so low that IT looks like the waist belt. Just a bit confusing if I was buying online without actually handling the pack. Maybe a short video showing all the features and linked at the site would work better for people.

I ordered the Plum version for my wife. I had it here in Canada in less than 1 week, can't beat that for service. If my wife decides not to use it, I will certainly use it. The Plum version looks better in person than on the website.

I guess I am quickly becoming a Canadian CCS junkie, now owning 3 packs, 1 tarp, 4 pole sets, and 2 other small items.
