August 2015, I purchased a Cabelas Tournament Trail 6'6" ML 2 piece spinning rod to take with me on my first BW trip. It replaced a rod that was broken when someone dumped the canoe while entering from the bank. I would tell you who, but my wife doesn't like me to blame her.
The rod was very nice, probably a bit light for pike, but great for smallmouth bass in the rivers here in Indiana. I caught lots of fish with it, and it made the trip back to the BW in September.
Well, it was broken in another incident while on the trip. Canoe partner cast into a shoreline tree, and I maneuvered the canoe in without reeling in my lure. It snagged on bottom, and just as I grabbed for it, the rod snapped. I had it in my hand, and from years experience, it didn't seem like there was enough stress to break the rod. Probably a nick, but it broke just above the ferrule. Oh well, my mistake.
I went to Cabela's about a month ago looking for a replacement, and was told that the rod was guaranteed, and to bring it in and get a replacement. Good news! Cabela's isn't in my home town, so fast forward to yesterday when I finally get back to the store. I get to the fishing department, and am having trouble finding the rods. An employee helps, but he tells me they are waiting for a shipment, basically they sold out. Long story short, I left with an upgrade, a 6'6" one piece Fish Eagle 54, ML. Probably $20 higher priced rod. I offered to pay the difference, but they said no.
I was a bit disappointed when I thought I would have to make another trip to get the rod, but they did what they could to make sure I left happy. All without me getting upset, or even asking them for options. Just good customer service.

That's is awesome!!! I love Cabela's and their products.
It sucks that the customer service at the Cabela's in my home town sucks in the customer service department. I almost always take my business to Scheels due to the better customer service.
