Looking to spend a single night in Ely the night before my trip this spring. I'm going solo, don't need anything fancy and am looking for the cheapest options. Where should I stay?

CCO has rooms behind the store. My favorite.

We've always had a nice night of sleep every time we've used VNO.

Economically speaking you can't get much better than VNO.

We've now found we really like the Adventure Inn to stay before we go.

One nice thing about CCO -just steps from Zaveral's. ;) More seriously, easy walk to Steakhouse and all the stores and restaurants. I think it was like $26 or 28 person for up to 3 in a room.

The bunkhouses I know of have a minimum charge. Generally you need to have (or pay for) multiple people. When I solo, I sleep in my truck in the NFS Ranger Station parking lot.

I agree with BasecampMom about the adventure in. I like it because I solo trip with my dog and they are pet friendly. I can drive all day, get a nice room, shower, walk the town with my dog, get a bit to eat and then off to an early sleep - and early rise. The rooms are nice and not too expensive. Having the dog welcomed is nice.

CBO Canadian Border Outfitters on Moose Lake ... bunkhouse or room ...outside town but reasonably priced and right on the water

I had planned to take my daughter on trip last summer. Had a room booked at vno. My neck issues were still bad but we stayed in the bunk house and did what we could. My daughter thought it was so cool the groups getting going early in the morning. She could feel the excitment. We had a good day dispite my issues. John and Lynn are very accommodating and have a great staff there.

Another vote for CCO here. I know they have at least one solo room on the end of the lower level. They normally don't require a deposit to book, so I'd do it sooner rather than later.
