Fish finder, Vexilar SP300 T-Box Smartphone

Anyone use the Vexilar SP300 T-Box Smartphone with their navionics app in the bwca? I have a small solar panel to recharge my phone...not sure if that could also recharge the battery on this unit.
Or any other fish finders that people use?
Fyi, posting the same inquiry on fishing form.

We used one a few years ago, it worked just Ok. Did not work well when the waves got up. The battery life about 3 hours and took longer to charge. We now use regular depth finder, which works a lot better.

My last big fish has yet to be caught.
