My son Henry caught his first non bobber fish today! I had him set up with a ned rig and showed him how to work it. On his second cast, I noticed his line dancing off to the left, so I pulled the pole back quick to set the hook and let him do the rest. He is 3 years old, and couldn't stop giggling when he reeled it in. Hopefully he will remember it, because I'll never forget it!!

That's going to be one happy, proud lifelong memory for him! Frame that picture for his room and you'll have many more to go with it.

That just makes me smile! He's not going to settle for a Snoopy rod for his first outfit...he'll be asking for high modulus graphite.

Haha yes, he is learning, but gets a little side tracked once in a while....anybody else have pictures of their kids/grandkids fishing?

The lad has a good handle on that fish, way to get him started! My 9 y.o. girl is pretty enthusiastic about fishing, which is so rewarding for me!

Curtis ... priceless ... proud Daddy for sure. You guys will talk about his first fish many times in the years to come.

I can't wait to take my 5 year old and 3 year old grandsons fishing to Quetico in a few years. I showed them your son Henry's fish and they both got "fired up".

Henry had a good day around the Iowa Great Lakes yesterday. We caught several nice bass and two good pike. He caught both of these by himself. Nice belly on the bass. Well, the pike he was reeling in, and I said " oh! It's a pike!" He asked what thay was, and I told him " they have sharp teeth" he dropped the pole and ran back 15 feet. Haha, so dad landed it for him and this is as close as I could get for a picture with him.
