Good afternoon! I'm taking a 4 day, 3 night BWCA trip out of Entry point 24(Fall Lake) with my dad and brother this July. We are heading up to Basswood lake and then east along the Canadian border and back down Basswood river to Washington Island and from there we will portage our way back to Pipestone Bay. Total miles is about 31 miles according to google earth. I was wondering if anyone has taken this route and if its a doable route for a 4 day trip?

Thanks for the feedback! Love the website!

I attached a image of our route.

Yes should be a fine trip. Portages are well used and fishing is good.

First off - Welcome to the board!!
Yup, you should be able to make easily if you don't have an"wind bound" days. You will need make about 8 miles each day which is a nice casual pace. There are only 4 portages and they are not bad. Watch out for the wind and weather on Basswood and coming around US Point.

First time trip coming up after Labor Day, and was thinking of same route. Will be group of 9--4 adults and 5 kids (7th graders). We have permit for Fall Lk, and will enter on Monday and exit, also from Fall Lk, on Friday.

Is this a good trip for first timers? Any other trip suggestions?
Any good ideas for campsites that will accommodate a group of 9?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.
