On average how many days in a year do you fish?
How many days will be spent fishing in the Boundary Waters or Quetico this year?
How many days in total do you think you have fished the BW or Quetico over the years?

I would say I will fish maybe 75 days this year. Plan on fishing in Quetico and the boundary waters 25 to 30 days this year if all goes as planned. Over my lifetime I would realistically say I have averaged 15 days a year for 40 years, so it would be 600 days.

I fish about 60-70 days a year with about 20 of those days fishing in the boundary waters. My first trip to the boundary waters was 10 years ago... I have about 170 days spent fishing in the bwca. I'm 30 years old and its a little crazy to think about,.And I don't plan on slowing down!

I would probably say I fish about 60 days a year.
Unfortunately don't get up to the BWCA as much as I would like with just 1 or 2 trips a year. So, thats probably like 5-10 days fishing in the BWCA.

This year will be my 15th trip up to the Boundary Waters... So probably about 100 days so far in the BWCA. Not near enough though.

I'm jealous. Not enough for me. Looking to add about 20+ bwca days this year if all goes as planned. As of the last 4 years i've fished between about 50 and 75 days a year including non bwca fishing.

I've spent most of my days skateboarding, about 3,000 to 4,000 days over the last 18 years.

I fish about 200 days a year since I retired 2 years ago. Before that it was about 50 days a year. As far as my Quetico trips it's been once a year for over 30 years and each trip is short being only 5-7 days. I don't like math so I won't figure it out.

On a side note I am probably the only one on this board that has all my Quetico trips being spent in the same place and 90% at the same campsite. My first trip was to North Bay. I loved it and have never been anywhere else.

You want to catch a big fish, go to North Bay.

For the past 25 years or so I have fished between 150 to 200 times a year. It all depends on water clarity and water levels of the local river. I have probably fished close to 40 times or more this year already thanks to the warmer than normal late winter.

I will be fishing the BW and Quetico this year either 16 or 17 days.

I estimate I have fished the BW and Quetico somewhere between 550 - 600 times.

Thanks for sharing your input, just curious to see often people fish on the message board!

About 150 give or take a few but i've got a pond in the backyard. Its my decompression chamber after work, just a 30 minute session of fishing does wonders.

Clearly I need a different job. I work 225+ days a year and fish 30+/-. In the past we fished 3+ days a week April through September including weekly tournaments but, family and financial responsibilities called and I'm just answering the bell. Retirement is just 4 years away.

I fish pretty much everyday.......thinking about fishing, talking about fishing, getting ready to go fishing. But actually going fishing? Ha! whats that? I haven't taken a single day off work since last September, and that includes Holidays and weekends (do I hear a violin?)

But summer is coming soon. Lord willing I am really looking forward to 3 days offshore in May, 4 days at Presque Isle (Lake Erie) in Pennsylvania in June, couple days a week during the summer on St Clair and 20 something days at Isle Royale. Used to snook and redfish once a week for many years but not so much anymore.........trying to get back down there, lots of fun in the Ten Thousand Islands of south Florida, excellent fishing, camping and paddling opportunities.

Let's see.....7-14 a year IN BW a year for last ten years (only two trips to Q) Most years only one trip to b-dub; three yrs twice. 3 yrs add 5 days to stay around Ely and lake- hop. So not counting a couple trips years ago I have fished BW and Q around 75 .
A week or two on Erie (maybe ten days in two trips. 4-5 sessions a year in SW Ohio on the river creeks. Home to me.
Every couple years a spring week on Cumberland. And then around here a half dozen sessions on Potomac or nearby. Often it is just a paddle or sport boat ride. I do not count short sessions at farm ponds (some with my granddaughter). Roughly 30-40 total a year and many of those are not all day serious sessions. Some evenings I fall asleep lying on the bank. :) oth

I'm a teacher (read: lots of time off in the summer) and an avid ice fisherman, so I get on the water pretty often. Average about 3 times a week, give or take, throughout the year.

In BW/Q, it's probably 25 days a year, give or take a few.

I'm guessing around 50 days a year fishing. I have one more trip planned later in the year to Brazil. So 14 days of fishing outside the US this year. Only 8 days total in the bwca the last 2 years and no open water trips. Open water is usually spent on Mille lacs and the upper Mississippi. With work and the family I try to fish more during peak times rather than all the time.

Over the last six years, I haven't fished once.

I'll fish 23 days this year.

In total, more than a year up north.

I like MT's fishing range. He fishes in the mountains. He fishes the ocean. He fishes the Great Lakes. He fished up north. If I had a fish tank, he'd likely fish that too!

+1 - I only get to fish 30 or so days a year because of work. Retirement is just 44 years away .

Only 44 years away! Thats funny.......

And someone is going to Brazil!.......how cool would that be? Parrots and big Peacock bass.......rumor has it the Woodchopper from High Roller lures is a good choice.

I love aquariums Miss Molly........Big or small.........my wife won't let me have one anymore because she always gets stuck cleaning it. Besides, the pretty little baby Channel Cats I cast net in the canal in front of my house will slowly but surely eat all the neons LOL.

I fish about 20 days a year now. I just don't have the time. This year I will be fishing 19 of those days on two trips to Quetico. Of course, I live in south Florida. If I lived closer, it would be more!

I probably fish around 60 days a year. I'll fish 25 days in Quetico this year. Probably around 500-600 days fishing BWCA & Quetico from 1983- 2017. Fishing there has spoiled me on some of the more local fishing. I still like to go, but it's not the same.

It's probably somewhere between 30 and 40 days in BWCA and Canada with a few fly fishing weekends thrown in there. It's never as much as I'd like but better than nothing!

Yo John......where in S. Florida are you at? I live in Clewiston a few blocks from the Big "O". Let me know if you need a bass fishing guide, my buddy guides for Roland Martins marina and has worked pretty much every day all winter but is starting to slow down.

I wish someone would have taken me to Quetico 40 years ago! I didn't know it existed until 1988. 25 to 30 days fishing in paradise is awesome!
