I just finished a new rod holder setup for the bow person in my boat. I usually ride stern, but have always struggled with a good setup for the front guy. I have used the rod sentry in the past. However, it seems too difficult to tighten and you have to mess with how it clamps on and such. Also seems to be a little soft and malleable.

Anyway, I got an aluminum yoke mounting kit from Wenonah for like 10 bucks. A piece of 1 x 4 (redwood) and then a Scotty rod holder. I can't wait to see how it works. Also added a map holder for me in the back.

quote Captn Tony: "Where did you get the chair seat?"

I had originally changed out my tractor seats for webbed seats. I wasn't really happy with how the tractor seats do not really lend themselves well to seat cushions or back rests. The front seat I had used some PVC pipe and U-brackets to slide onto the bars the tractor seat sat on.

After a couple years using the webbed seat in the front, I decided I should go back to the tractor seat in the front. I have a buddy with the same backrest that he had gotten on sale at Hoigards a while back. Unfortunately, these are pretty expensive from all I was able to find. I figured it was better this way weight wise and stuff though, so I bit the bullet and bought the back rest direct from Wenonah. The seat cushion I found cheap on Amazon and seems to fit what I want for a seat cushion up front.

Looks great. Have you had a chance to use it? Did it work as well as it looks?

Very nice. Is that fishfinder thwart mounted under the mapholder? Looks very handy.
