Don't know how I got on mailing list but the 2017 BA catalog arrived today. Had not seen the Copper Hotel version of the Copper Spur before. Large vestibule - possibly substitute for a fly for some users. And a whole slew of 2 person sleeping bags I had not been aware of previously. I keep thinking about the Scout - roomy 2 person tent - 1 pound 4 ounces - for backpacking.

Like getting the Montgomery Wards toy catalog right after Thanksgiving when I was a kid.

I got one today too, probably because I exchanged an air pad within the last year.

I loved those catalogs from Wards, Penny's, and Sears. They used to have "sporterized" WWII rifles in them. Love their old brand names such as JC Higgins (Penny's), etc. "Ted Williams" (Sears), etc. I still have an old Sears sleeping bag from the early 1980's that I use sleeping in the car the night before a trip. Nothing beat the early to mid-1960's Herters catalog though.

Off topic now, but I recall visiting the MW in St Paul on University Ave with my dad before Christmas. Man, that was magic! Got my first bb gun there (Red Ryder) and a pretty nice bike as well (also got a kitten there as they had a pet section in the store). Dad was into home movies, so he would bring his film in to get it developed at MW and we would watch the 35 mm reels on a projector he bought from MW. I know I wax nostalgic here, but those were good times.

Those were the days....don't forget Alden's
Gonna look at that copper hotel. Only BA item I'be owned was a Copper Spur UL4 that was on sale at Back country ? or somewhere 3-4 yrs ago for like 257. It was nice. Used it one trip and let my trip buddy talk me out of it. Wish I had kept it. He uses it a good bit and is very happy with it.
