I'm coming in on Clearwater next Friday and will start fishing Saturday. Help me plan a route, or maybe base camp. All the following lakes are in play: Caribou, Little Caribou, Moon, Deer, Gogebic, Pine, McFarland, John, West Pike, East Pike, Mountain. I'm fishing for anything. Anybody that's been on these lakes have a favorite? I'm concerned though that the early season will limit me to trout.

Gogebic is a special lake for a multitude of reasons.

Opening fishing is 5.13. That's Saturday. I will definitely try Caribou! I think I'll hit that first!

Wow! It looks beautiful! That's a nice brookie! Is that your daughter? I'll have my two daughters with me on this trip.

Last year was on Caribou one week later. Fishing was very slow, had the best luck in the shallow East bay. I think the water was just slightly warmer there than elsewhere. We also made the walk (sans canoe) to Deer lake and caught one smallmouth casting from the North shore right by campsite.
