so the sargent/warden/sherriff of the house just approved a quick 2nd trip to the bdubs with her brother. I am going out of sawbill later this summer for my 8 day trip, any suggestions for easy entry/portages. Only looking for a few days in... maybe 4, and probably base camping. any suggestions are helpful. he is very novice in camping, fishing and canoeing, but can be trained easily (ive been training his side for some time)

Congrats, hope The Warden doesn't visit this site and see the crack about training his side of the family. You'll probably pay for that somewhere down the line. #:^)
In my house the line, revenge is a dish that is best served cold, is the rule. Good luck.

Two trips in one year?! You have any amazing wife! Perhaps you should be giving marriage advice on this forum!

Always easier to ask forgiveness than permission is my motto. I suppose I am quite fortunate.........I pretty much have "permission" to call my shots and just book my stuff when I want and inform her after. Once I screwed up and booked an charter boat on her 50th birthday and that didn't go over so well and she got fired up.........but she was good in an hour or so. I made sure to "make it up to her" and the big party was the week before.

My buddy, on the other hand, is not so lucky. We laid out the Quetico map on his dining room table so the three of us could plan our trip and his wife asked when we were going and when he told her she flat out said he was not going at that time as it was his daughters birthday. My pal, who is as cool as a cucumber, said nothing and we ended up going on our desired dates. I, on the other hand, would probably last about a week with such a woman.

I guess you have to play the hand you are dealt. Men and women want different things in the marital relationship.........men want respect and women want to be loved (made to feel special). When either of those two things are offered conditionally then trouble is on the horizon. That will be the best marriage advice you will ever hear.........straight out of Gods Word the Bible.

If your in dire straights this book fleshes out the truth of human nature in a very informative way and is considerably cheaper and less painful than divorce. I strongly recommend it.........you will get an "aha" understanding of the dynamics of men and women.

Getting married early next year - my annual BWCA trip was built in as a prerequisite even before we started dating, so ive got that covered.
I would love to trip multiple times a year but getting up there from TX isnt easy

It always helps to involve family when it comes to getting permission for the extra trip... As to your question.... Both EP 14 and 16, Little Indian Sioux and Nina Moose offer easy entries with some points of interest.

EP 14 has Devils Cascade and the Sioux Hustler trail for points of interest.
EP 16 has the Top of the World with blueberries (if in season) and a lovely natural spring for fresh water on the west side of Nina Moose Lake.

Paddlinjoe, I'm going in via EP16 in 40 days and heading up to LLC via Ge-be-on-e-quet. Where can I find the Top of the World and this lovely natural spring along the way?

Can you fly nonstop to Minneapolis? i usually take the earliest(5:30 or 6:00) flight out of Austin and end up in Ely by 3:00 with a stop for lunch on the way. Does kinda suck using up a full day traveling. Better than the 22 hour drive though. Lol.
