The first week of June we are taking a trip through the Seagull, Alpine, Sag loop and were considering taking a day to explore one of the smaller, less traveled lakes such as Rog, Roy, or Grandpa lake. Has anyone had any luck fishing these smaller lakes or any others in the area? Any thoughts?

It's hard to find more productive lakes for quality fish than Sea Gull, Alpine, Red Rock, and Sag. I fished Roy one time many moons ago. The lake was full of stunted smallmouth. Grandpa is a productive lake for average sized pike. I've herd rumors of big pike from Grandpa.

+1 ^ , grandpa lake is mainly a pike lake and like most lakes in the BW i'm sure theres a 40"er in there but more in the medium range and the portage can get very buggy , rog lake fishing for brookies can always be hit or miss , but maybe some quality smallies in there ? another option would be meditation lake but once again it is a brook trout lake that has seen its better days, but it does get stocked every year , many brookie lakes in and outside the BW in cook county have gone to a every other year stocking program.
as far as the lakes you mentioned , give rog a try, unless you want to explore , but pike can be had in the other lakes besides grandpa , and seagull does hold trophy pike in much larger #'s
i would concentrate on seagull-alpine-red rock and a quick visit to rog on your way to alpine.

We have done that same loop a few times and always enjoy rog lake. Small lake with lots of small mouth in the 3lb range.

Head over through Jasper to Kingfisher and fish moving water for some good smallie and pike action.
