Jointed diver, Extended troll
Deep basin, Large bowl

Patiently waiting, Need bite
Rod bend, Decent fight

Bear spotted, Swimming otter
Russell’s current, Moving water

Conmee lake, Golden hue
Kawnipi kawa, Slate blue

Marbled iris, Flaring gills
Spine dorsal, Backwoods thrill

White tipped, Broad tail
Jigging humps, Never failed

Head shakes, Nearing canoe
Securely hooked, Net subdued

Thirty inch, Trophy release
Good karma, Wilderness peace

Capture four, Weedy bay
Wood paddle, Easy fillets

Shore lunch, Oil fry
Tasty cheeks, Quetico Walleye

Molly's Smallmouth

First cast, brownie hits,
Molly sets, doesn't miss.

Big fish, reaches net,
Bass dives, not yet.

Molly reels, bass rises,
Fish jumps, mini-crisis.

In net, victory,
Molly measures, sad to see.

Once again, not like Mike's,
Mike's are fat, Molly's are tykes!!!

My mouth waters a little when I read the last stanza regarding the oil fried shore lunch! Thanks for the two poems. They have only added to my anticipation for June BW trip.
