I've seen a few of these at the various BWCA entry points, and they are very nice looking trailers.

Any chance one of you has a used one sitting around that you would like to sell. I would be interested in a two canoe position trailer or a four canoe position trailer.

I always manage to pack two canoes and 4~6 people's worth of gear into the old van for the annual trip to the BWCA from Ohio, but it sure would be nice to have a little room in the van instead of sitting on top of the packs!

I'm headed up the the BWCA June 3rd and could stop anywhere between Akron, Ohio and Ely to make a purchase.

I convert Jet Ski trailers into canoe haulers.

I have a Triton trailer base with moveable Yakima towers & 78" crossbars. Has a built-in Yakima Rocket Box for gear.

You can see pics & get details by doing a Craigs List search in Eau Claire, WI.

I made my own, bought a trailer at harbor freight for $180, and spent less than $75 on the rest of it. I also made another rack for the top so I can carry 4 boats.

I like to think of it an an investment in fun. I have had mine for 10 years and have not regretted purchasing it ever. I have taken it to Yellowstone, Glacier, Canada and the Bwca. The most use I get out of it is using it for local float trips. It's very usefull to move kids to college as well. I highly recommend one.

The jet ski trailer with the Yakima box is not a bad idea, but I'd like more space than the Yakima skybox has available. I've thought about this approach a few times as I've got a 14' Lund and a Yakima box.... would not take to too much effort to temporarily convert the trailer to carrying the Yakima box and a pair of canoes instead of the Lund.

The Harbor freight idea can work too. While I've bought a few descent quality items from Harbor Freight, I've had more than my fair share that didn't last the length of the job. I'd be a bit apprehensive relying up of their trailers for a 2,000 mile round trip, though I admit the pictures of the above trailer look very good for a few hundred dollar investment.

My hope was to find a guy like Wrestlencanoe that has a Remackel parked in the barn that just doesn't use it enough anymore.

From what I've seen and read, these are very well built trailers so finding one in the 2nd hand market may prove to be a long shot. While I would like to buy new, my camping/fishing wants do not rank too highly on my wife's priority list!

One of my friends uses a Harbor Freight trailer for his small sailboat. He's probably carrying 500 lbs and has it rigged to load and unload more easily than my actual boat trailer and he's been using it for many years. So, some of their trailers can make a good rig. Now you've got me thinking of doing one for our cabin. Some friends are talking of leaving a car there and sharing if we do a trailer.

BB:
Does Harbor Freight have a tongue extension? How did you get the extra length?

I went to a metal fabrication shop in town (Fargo), and bought a 8' chunk of 3/16" tube steel. I think it was $20. I have close to 2,000 miles on it, and have had zero issues.
