Heading into Brent in mid June and probably will spend 2 days there. Coming in from the west and wondering whether to basecamp from east or west side. Main goal is to catch big SMB, Northern, and some walleye on my fly rod. Anyone have any opinions on which side we should head for or does it matter at all?

I honestly haven't found an area of Brent that isn't loaded with fish. I will say I've done better on lakers in the west.

I have only passed through fishing while traveling and really the whole lake has good potential. It acts more like a winding river, with narrowing areas, current with big depth areas for trout. Sorry doesn't help ya but don't think there is a bad option on Brent.

I have heard that the middle area where Conmee or Suz. Empties into Brent is good for smallies, but that camp is very popular with not much nearby. I've never gotten there when it wasn't taken so can't speak for myself.

definitely why I'm looking to hear... is there a lot of flats in this lake near big water or mainly a deep water lake?
