Any suggestions on an economical ($75-150?) gps unit to be used mainly in the bwca? I would like the ability to see depths and contours, mark fishing spots, trace paths, and the bonus would be portages and campsites marked. Waterproof, which it seems most units are. Never owned a gps but think it would be a neat tool to add.

That price is pretty low...

But try the Garmin Oregon 650T from gpscity. It is normally $450. Now, it is only $299.

I've had several GPSs. I just got the 650T. So far, so good...

I also bought the garmin BWCA chip. It gives campsite locations, portages, and lake depths. I haven't used the chip yet but I can give you an update next week...
