ok these have become very popular the last few years. because of them i have not a cig in almost 6 months. the flavor that i use is a very strong fruty smell/taste. i was wondering, because of the smell of that, should it and the extra container of e-cig juice go in the bear bag at night?

Bears want sugar. If you think the fragrance is made from sugar or flowers (not likely) then maybe you should. A bee won't touch diet soda but goes nuts over sugared soda. I believe that bears are the same. Bears WILL bite into things though for taste, then leave it, so...

I'd worry about smoker the bear.

It depends too what risk your willing to make and the concequences if a bear did wreck it. If you would have to cut your trip short because you couldn't go without it? Then probably you should secure it.

thanks for the responses. if it some how were to get damaged then o well, it would def not make me cut my trip any shorter. i just didn't know if i could keep it in my hammock at night or if it should be put away in the bear bag. i'm thinking unless i get a small waterproof/smell prof container it will go up in the bag at night.

The bear's sense of smell is beyond keen, and bears love sweets. If it smells sweet, the bears might come to check it out. If I were you and absolutely had to take it to the B-Dub, then I would put it in it's own sealed container and hang it separate from the food pack but definitely NOT in the hammock. The bear might think you're a giant cherry turnover!

that's kinda what i was thinking. i will probably look for some kind of container to put it in and stash it in woods in a different area than our food bag.

Side question - what does B-Dub stand for?

Alternatively, you could find a flavorless formula for outdoor trips. I bet others sharing the wilderness would be appreciative.

How about a campfire aroma?
