Hello,
For future reference...what are some of the best times and places to view the aurora borealis? I would like to plan a trip with this in mind.

It is difficult to predict very far into the future, but some smart people tell you their best guess here.

This will give you a three day prediction - a KP of a 5-6 is what we need in Minnesota for the Northern Lights.

I have had my best viewing in late summer. Find a site that is to the southern side of a lake for an un-obstructed view.
