We are looking at getting into Basswood next year. We'll be coming out of Ely and would like your opinion on which is better, to start in Mudro or Fall Lake. Easiest route isn't necessarily what I'm looking for but if theres a section of the lake that is better to access for fishing or does it really matter. What are some good campsites in that section of Basswood? Any info you can give on Basswood would be great.

We camped on 1555 (the island with the gauging station) many years ago. It was a terrific site. A nice sand beach to the east with a shallow area for bathing and washing. Plenty of tent sites.
