I am going to be renting one if the typical Wenona type canoes for an upcoming trip and I'm looking to find out what the diameter of the stern thwart is. I'm hoping to attach a rod holder to the stern thwart using one of the rail mount brackets. The brackets say that they are made for a 1" railing. Is that what the thwarts typically are?

Wrap a piece of string around the pipe to find the circumference of it. Divide the circumference by 3.14, and that is the diameter.

I don't have a canoe with me yet. We are heading up in a few weeks. If I had it here, I would have figured it out. We are renting canoes when we get there.

Wenona thwarts are 1 inch in diameter.
