Hi all,
I am heading up to gogebic tomorrow. I'm wondering how the white sucker bite had been on gogebic? Any suggestions on what they are biting on?

I made it up to the lake. I've now struck out twice on the lake. The fish were there. I could see the fry that the don't put there this year. Saw larger fish jumping. But they only wanted flies and I had no fly rod. Still the lake is wonderful and is worth the effort.

Shuz, did you hike in for a day or camp on gogebic ? And yes it is a beautiful little lake!

We stayed on the last campsite on Clearwater then did a day trip. I'd love to camp up there. The thought of lugging all the gear up and down the difficult portage is a barrier. I'd the trail is wet it is down right dangerous to take the short portage. The campsite on gogebic is great for 4 people. Latrine was basically empty.

Shuz, are you talking about fishing for white suckers or were you trout fishing?

ya hiking into any brook trout lake on a given day can be hit or miss, i've done 3 trips to gogebic , first one was back in 1991. we always caught enough for some tasty meals
