On Jun 26, I'll be entering solo from EP 14 Little Indian Sioux River North. First night likely on Loon or Little Loon.

Nights 2, 3, and 4 are currently unplanned and I like to remain flexible. However, I'd like to target one of the following lakes to base out of. I'll likely day trip, explore, do some lazy fishing, possibly move if I get bored, but initially shoot for three nights at the same spot.

My preferences are scenery, solitude, fishing, and exploration in that order. I prefer small lakes to big. Don't mind portages as long as they're not too much past 200 rods.

This will be my second solo canoe trip after multiple solo backpacking trips. Been to Stuart and the Ely area, but first time in this neck-of-the-woods.

I would suggest Beartrack lake - north east site. - Or north end of Eugene.

It's all scenic. I went through many of those lakes last year and thought that I would like to stay at the north end Eugene site sometime. Just travelling through we caught smallmouth and northern. There is a good chance you would have the lake to yourself and lots of options for day trips.

Little Loon is one of my favorite lakes for fishing and solitude! There is also a nice Island campsite on Snow Bay, and there is some good fishing there as well.
Eugene we did not fish on very much, we did go to Fat (Gin Clear water) and caught a couple of small Lakers. The Bear Tracks are shallow! Gun has some good smallmouth in it.

Several of the lakes you mentioned only have one, or two campsites on them, Fat, Steep etc. The T lakes I have not been on!

Try putting those names around a dart board and taking shots at it aiming for the bulls eye. Depending on how good you are at darts, your shots should trend towards the ones you are most interested in going to. Don't do it too many times or you will over think it and ruin the point of the test.
