I'm looking for contractor style 55 gal clear garbage bags for a pack liner. I would like 3 mil minimum thickness. I have no trouble finding black bags but not the clear. I've checked Home Depot and Menards so far. Anyone have a suggestion on where I might find what I'm looking for?
Thanks!

quote bposteve: "I have a large roll I bought at Mill's Fleet Farm. Its several years old so not positive they're still stocking them."
What bposteve said.
If you're in the midwest, Mills Fleet Farm is the place. The bags are on a roll, but they come in a box. Not sure how many bags are in the roll (there are quite a few), but I think the box is about $15 or so. They're the ones I use for pack liners.

Try Associated Bag. They are in Wisconsin in the Milwaukee area, I think. No affiliation. We buy some of our bags from them for work.

Flat Bags: Flat Bags
I use the flat bags that I grab from work. They could be 2 mil or 3 mil, not sure, but I usually get about two years out of them for gear or overwraps for my Tupperware bin that I use inside my food bag. If they get a hole, I just "borrow" a few from work. Not a big deal, as I own the company, so I guess I own the bags too.

For you folks who use the 3 mm contractor bags - how do they feel compared to the thicker traditional Duluth Pack liners? I assume they are tough or none of you would be using, but do they have that rigid feel - can the loose ends stand up while loading and unloading?

hey, I am just a bit south of St. Paul. We should go paddle sometime."
I'm in Hastings. I would love to take you up on that offer sometime if the moon and the stars all align. I have twin 2 year old boys (future paddling partners) that do not give me a lot of free time. Never know though, it could happen! LOL.
