I fished the South Arm of Knife all day on Friday June 2nd. Fishing was fairly slow. We caught a handful of smallies, a mid 20 inch lake trout, and two nice pike. This was our first time on the lake, so we spent most of the time exploring new spots. We also fished Seagull and Ogish on our way out, and managed another nice lake trout, and several small walleyes. Walleyes and pike were caught in shallow water (less than 10 feet). Trout were suspended over deep water (60 ft plus). Wish I was up there now!
I was up there same time as swanny. Into the weekend trout seemed to push deeper as air temps rose into the 80s during the day. Found some smallies along the shorelines. Did well in both of those categories. Only 1 walleye, though we didn't really go after them. The walleye catch was incidental to the trout fishing.
