My daughter sent me this link to see this Portable Round Fishing Boat. Not sure I will add this type of boat to my canoe and kayak fleet on the ceiling in my garage ... but it is an interesting design.

It is priced at around $1,500. It looks to be a kayak boat fishing alternative.

To say it is a unique watercraft for fishing, and hunting is an understatement. Not sure how long these round boats like the Ultraskiff 360 have been around but this is the first time I have seen one. Looks like there are several manufacturers of round boats.

Mastertangler likely has seen more of these in Florida where they seem to have quite a few in the everglades and backwaters. Maybe he can chime in.

Several YouTube videos show it to be quite stable which is my major concern with this design. Here is a video of a guy catching a Monster Grouper using an Ultraskiff.

They don't look all that mobile. 3-4 mph with a range of your battery life.
I think I would just get a 10-12 ft lund deep-v or use a canoe with outriggers. You could make a poor man's version with a large inner tube and plywood decking.

I guess the fens Welsh and Mandans used round boats. Looks cool for a small lake or big pond or hunting. At the price I'd have to go with the plywood, rope and tractor tube, though. And a barstool!

If you rolled it across a Portage would it be considered using Portage wheel(s)?

I have only seen these on Utube. Might have some applications. I wonder how they get the thing around?

Catching those big grouper is just as hard as it looks. Lots of grunting and groaning and the occasional hopeful glance at the relief board to see if anybody has signed up to help ;-)
