Just got back from Quetico, and our group caught several Blue Walleyes which I have never caught before. Is this a different strain of walleyes. They were beautiful, blue tint to the fins and tail.

Since I'm going to Kawnipi this summer and a grand slam goal is my goal. I'll substitute blue walleye for lake trout.

Much easier to catch a blue walleye than a lake trout in Kawnipi :)

How about some pictures of these blue walleyes. We've caught blue tinged walleyes but not true blue walleyes

Ive heard about Blue Walleye before up near Red Lake Ontario. Never heard of them in Quetico before. Sounds great to me. Going to be in Kawnipi a couple nights this summer. Hope to run into a few blues. Love to see a picture of one,

I have some on the camera, I'll see if I can get them on the site.

The only time I was on Kawnipi, we almost exclusively caught blue phase walleye. Didn't get a picture because I didn't notice it at first untill we went out to an island to clean the fish and compared a normal golden wallleye to a blue one. It was a significant difference.

I am not saying these were true blue walleyes that were originally on Lake Erie, but definitely a different color phase. Very cool looking.
