If anyone's interested, the book on how-to is "canoecraft" by Ted moores. There are a few different methods to build a cedar strip but this video specifically is definitely the canoe craft method.

That was awesome! I'm not keen enough to know all the intricate details of a cedar strip but man are they pretty to look at.

I would be scared to use a canoe like that :) My canoe is like an old pick up truck that gets pretty beat up.

Damn, that is a nice boat. Love that they did so much with glue instead of staples. I would be worried about nicking it up, but I hear that they are pretty tough once they are done...
