The thread started by Q Mike on the size of tube jigs is very good reading and introduced me to tube jigs. I am wondering if anyone has had success with catching pike with Tubes.

Certainly possible, although more incidental rather than targeted. I caught a 38" 13.5lb pike on a 3.5" tube.

I think there are much better lures to use when targeting pike. I like the Bullfrog Lucky 13 for topwater,a red and white dardevle spoon, or maybe a big bucktail inline spinner to name a few. Use a titanium leader.

I've caught loads of pike on twister tails and done well on tube jigs as well. Giant tube jigs work really well.

+1 on tubes being a good pike lure. They need to be as large as you can find ( saltwater size is best) They are particularly effective with larger pike and reluctant or educated pike. Sometimes flashy and loud are the LAST things you want. Instead of fishing them imitating a crayfish like for smallmouth, use more of a darting and falling action. Works well rigged weedless also.
