I did a trip down this river several years ago and it was an awesome experience. I would like to try it again and am going on a trip through Mudro just after the 4th.

Has anyone done this recently that knows the shape of the portages and water levels? I read some not so recent reports that the water levels were more challenging as some beaver dams were now gone. My previous trip was in the spring and we had no issues with water level.

I am bringing a few kids, so I really don't want to push through mud.

Thanks

Corey

Didn't get up that far, water in the Gun area is super high, hope that helps.

I just got back from there. Haven't had time to post a trip report yet. We came up Spring Creek to where it meets the beartrap river. Did not have a chance to see anything east of there. Water levels are high everywhere now. The portage around the second set of rapids right before Sunday lake was mostly flooded.

West of Sunday, on toward Iron, the portages are not well maintained (some of this is still in the PMA). There were many deadfalls and wet areas. It is doable but definitely more work than a more well-traveled area.
