Liquid fuel always will burn hotter than gas.

If you're looking for a reason to pick up another stove, go ahead, especially if you have had that gas stove for more than a few years. I picked up two $6 iso stoves (not as nice as MSR or Snow Peak or Optimus). They do have a spot in your pack. Maybe a 2-day portage or a bob bag.

I think with a 100 gram can, the smallest they make, I cooked about twelve meals at home over winter, ranging from Spanish rice to lentils, in a titanium pot.

The only thing I've seen bad on the iso stoves is if you're cooking with a heavy stainless steel pot and piezo ignition, it might melt.

Isobutane has a higher btu output at 19500 per pound vs 18500 for most liquid fuels. Isobutane can be a liquid as supplied to a stove and all fuels are gaseous to burn.
The fastest boiling stove I have is isobutane canister fueled, MSR Rapidfire. Depending on your definition of hottest, it is isobutane then kerosene, naphtha , alcohol.
If you are talking efficiency as in water boiled per oz. of fuel kerosene is top.

BTU output is a function of the fuel and the air temperature. One of the advantages of white gas fuel is that it burns hotter over a wider range of air temperature. But the stoves are heavier and more complicated and need more maintenance.

The choice I mentioned is direct experiance with 2 very comparable stoves. Whisperlite, running white gas, and Rapidfire, running on isobutane.
Whisperlite regularly will boil 32oz of water in 3.5 minutes, the Rapidfire 3 minutes, less with the canister inverted. Similar results with a Simmerlite and Windpro.

PS: While I have a large choice of stoves and fuels, I mostly take a liquid fueled stove, but for other reasons. bh

How about the twig stoves? Some are pretty fast to boil water.
