Oh my gosh!!! Just took the hound for a walk in the field down the street from my house in McHenry County and was eaten alive. At least as bad as the BWCA when the layer of skeeters gets closer and closer to the ground at dusk (which it is here). Up north, I always wear long sleeve t-shirts and long pants. This evening, I wore shorts and a t-shirt, as it is still toasty and humid. Oh man - what a mistake that was! Just found a tick on me too. It has been years since I had one of those buggers on me. Big tick, not a deer tick. Can't wait to get up to the BWCA in September when I don't have to deal with this stuff.
We have a rare year by Mille lacs this year. Hardly any ticks or mosquitoes this year and it is July already. I am sure they are still planning a attack.
